The Cardinal Newman Scholarship (CNS)
is Newman University’s most prestigious academic scholarship and provides full tuition for up to eight semesters. Minimum qualifications for this award are an ACT score ≥ 30 (SAT ≥ 1860) and a high school GPA ≥ 4.0. Cardinal Newman Scholars at Newman University are expected to continue high levels of academic achievement, to provide leadership and involvement in campus activities, and to model a commitment to service. Upon receipt of this completed application, applicants will be invited on campus to compete for one of the FIFTEEN the Cardinal Newman Scholarship. The competition will include activities such as participating in an interview with faculty and past CNS scholars, writing an essay, and learning more about majors and programs at Newman University. Competing students not awarded the Cardinal Newman Scholarship will automatically receive a Freshman Presidential Scholarship.
The application packet includes:
• A completed application form
• A resume detailing your employment, service, volunteer, and leadership activities
• A recommendation from one of your high school teachers, counselor, administrator who can speak to your scholarship, service, and activities.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The deadline for receipt of all materials is February 1, 2014
